PRESS RELEASE

After 25 years of excellent customer service, DramaticsNYC is opening up shop downtown in the historic West Village. A refreshing getaway from the typical downtown boutique salon, the Village Dramatics is comprised of an easy-going, professional, truly New York staff whose genuine interest in and dedication to each client has started a buzz in the Village and throughout the city. As the newest of nine locations in Manhattan, the Village Dramatics is trying to change the face of the salon industry downtown by becoming more connected with the community. In addition to offering the most inexpensive haircut in the neighborhood ($9.95 on Mondays and Tuesdays, a throwback to opening day prices in 1985) the salon is teaming up with The West 9th Street Block Association to help beautify the neighborhood, as well as ACRIA to help raise awareness and funds for HIV prevention in New York City. As diverse as the community itself, the Village Dramatics has a stylist for just about anyone; from old to young, classic to alternative, right down to just plain funky, the talented team of stylists gives you an elite haircut without an elitist air. Now in a collaborative effort, local businesses are teaming up with Dramatics to help throw their official grand opening party, the “Village Premiere.” With catering by Amber, music by DJ Andrew Kirchner, and entertainment from the salon’s own talented staff, the May 16th event will be a celebration of fashion and self expression. The party will feature a runway presentation of up-and-coming designer Leonid Gurevich’s work, with flavors from Williamsburg’s JAZZ, hair, and makeup by the Village Dramatics team. The party will be held at the salon (434 6th Avenue between 9th and 10th) on May 16th from 7pm until 1am.
