1.Who we are and what this covers
Dramatics NYC (“Dramatics NYC”, “DNYC”, “we”, “us”) operates hair salons in Manhattan and the website dramaticsnyc.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you:
- browse the Site or send us a message through the contact form;
- book, change or cancel an appointment online through our booking platform, Boulevard;
- receive appointment texts or emails from a Dramatics NYC salon;
- buy DNYC products or gift cards through the Site.
By using the Site or booking with us you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site, and call your salon to book instead.
2.Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, the salon you are asking about, and your message.
- Online booking (Boulevard): your name, email address, mobile phone number, the services, stylist, salon, date and time you choose, any notes you add, your communication preferences, and, where a salon requires one, a payment card to hold the appointment. Card details are collected and stored by Boulevard and its payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- Online shop (Square): your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the items you order. Payment is taken on a secure Square checkout page; we receive confirmation of the order and the shipping details, not your card number.
- In the salon: service history, color formulas, consultation notes, allergies or sensitivities you tell us about, and photos you ask us to take, all kept in our salon software so your next visit is consistent.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of the visit. We use this only to keep the Site running, secure and fast (for example, to rate-limit the contact form and checkout). The Site does not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
Local storage. Your shopping bag is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it is still there when you come back. It never leaves your device until you check out. Staff who sign in to our order archive receive a short-lived login cookie; no cookie is set for ordinary visitors.
3.How we use your information
- to schedule, confirm, remind you about, change and cancel appointments;
- to reply to messages you send us and provide customer service;
- to process, ship and support product and gift card orders;
- to keep a record of your services, formulas and preferences so every visit builds on the last;
- to send appointment-related texts and emails and, only if you opt in, news and offers from Dramatics NYC;
- to prevent fraud, abuse and no-shows, and to enforce our Terms;
- to comply with law, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
4.Text messages (SMS) and consent
When you book online, you may be asked to agree to receive text messages from your Dramatics NYC salon. These include appointment confirmations, reminders, changes, and two-way replies to questions you text us. If you separately opt in, they may also include occasional news and special offers.
Consent is yours to give and withdraw. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any message for help, or STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to stop all texts from that salon. Reply NO PROMOS to stop marketing texts while still receiving appointment texts. You can also change your preferences in the link included in any confirmation or reminder email, or by calling your salon.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors that help us deliver our services, such as our booking and messaging platform or customer-service tools, is permitted solely for that purpose. All other categories of use exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include all major U.S. carriers.
6.How long we keep information
We keep client records (contact details, service history, formulas) for as long as you are an active client and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can serve you if you return. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your choices).
7.How we protect information
The Site is served over HTTPS. Payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors (Square and Boulevard’s processor) so card numbers never touch our servers. Access to client records is limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information with appropriate safeguards.
8.Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete. Email safari@dramaticsnyc.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. Some records (for example, invoices) must be kept by law.
- Texts. Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts, or NO PROMOS to stop marketing texts only.
- Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. You will still receive transactional emails such as appointment confirmations and receipts.
- Shopping bag. Clear your browser’s site data to remove the saved bag.
If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law that gives you additional rights, you can exercise them by contacting us the same way. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9.Children
The Site and online booking are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Appointments for minors should be booked by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the minor’s information and consent. If you believe a child has given us information online, email safari@dramaticsnyc.com and we will delete it.
10.Links to other sites
The Site links to our social media profiles, Google Maps, our booking and gift card platforms and our payment processor. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Please review their policies before giving them information.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will let you know by email or a notice on the Site before it takes effect. Continued use of the Site or our services after that date means you accept the updated policy.
